Accelerating Purposeful Leadership

At ELEOS, we don’t operate a traditional expert led model of learning. Using action research, we know that the most effective approach is to ensure that those who participate in our programmes and interventions are actively involved in becoming the agents of change.
Once we can establish what the main requirement of each organisation and its leadership, we work closely with the participants to collectively act to produce change and generate new knowledge (Lowenson, 2014).

Detailed Process

Whether you are interested in transformational change, emotionally intelligent leadership or in creating a culture of empowerment, inclusion and innovation we offer a tried and tested methodology as to how we usually approach our client needs. These steps are chronologically linked but some clients may wish to do their own learning needs analysis and require us to go straight to step 4. We can work with whatever your requirements, just give us a call.
Understand your reality

The first is to listen carefully to your organisational needs, which may include spending time in a facilitative role (online or physically) allowing us to experience your organisation in action. Using an action research approach, we use a consultative process in the room which invites those present to contribute to the discussion, which helps us understand the behaviours and culture. This inclusive first step can often be an important one in setting intentions for the change process which may be imminent and the crucial input from the team, who will feel heard and included.

Co-design

Second, once we have compared the learning gaps from our initial conversation with you and what we now understand might be the issues, we then agree on how to work with you and co-design a customised draft of the types of interventions on how to address these gaps. Our intervention may structurally include a series of modules delivered over a period of months, a coaching experience or another bespoke intervention which considers most appropriate populations and the learning outcomes.

Active learning

In keeping with our action research approach, workshops may include a mix of classroom interventions using dialogical methods such as world café, open space, action learning sets, narrative analysis and visual methods-voice and photo. We also use off-site experiences, where delegates can come face to face with very different communities to evoke self- awareness and awareness of others in different contexts. We have links with community charities and support services who provide us with safe and interesting spaces to partner with them and their communities. This allows us to partake in a collective process of change while placing your organization within the wider societal context to consider the wider ecosystem.

Pre-work

Thirdly, once we have agreed a bespoke set of interventions, date placeholders are secured and participants are invited to spend time reflecting on what they will bring to the process and how they will show up. On the start date of the first workshop (or coaching), delegates are invited to bring their own learning needs to the process which can be integrated to the programme. These journals will be managed throughout the process.

Life-long learning

The transformative change continues long after ELEOS participants have left their short-term face to face learning context. The creation of action learning sets and peer connections during the offsite community experiences ensure that the quest for long term change continues long after the formal process has ceased. We create alumni community groups on LinkedIn, served by events to connect like minded people with topics of interest and offer peer support.
